Indonesia’s Deadliest Earthquakes: Deadliest earthqukes has left Indonesia broken in many areas. This country has experienced one of the most deadliest earthquakes in the recent times. These earthquakes has left loss of destruction in society, families and many more.

1. Over 330 people were killed when an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 struck Cianjur, West Java, on November 21, 2022. During school hours, the tremor occurred, causing buildings to collapse and trapping students inside. Thousands of homes and schools were severely damaged, and children made up the majority of the victims.

2. West Sulawesi is one of the most affected places by earthquakes in Indonesia. On January 15, 2021, more than 100 people were dead in this 6.2 magnitude earthquake. Most of the buildings and roads were destroyed. It is reported that this earthquake occurred at midnight and most of the people were dead in midnight. This was one of the saddest parts in Indonesia.

3.The island of Lombok saw a string of strong earthquakes in July and August of 2018, with magnitudes ranging from 6.4 to 6.9. Over 550 people were killed and many were displaced by these consecutive tremors. The heaviest destruction occurred in the northern region of Lombok, when infrastructure was devastated and entire villages were destroyed.

4. On September 28, 2018, there was a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Central Sulawesi. This ended up with a tsunami and soil liquefaction. This is one of the deadliest earthquakes in the history of Indonesia. More than 4,300 people were dead in the catastrophe.

5. Going further back, on December 7, 2016, a 6.5 magnitude quake shook Aceh in Sumatra, killing over 100 people. The early morning tremor collapsed homes and shops, catching residents off guard and causing widespread panic.

All of these earthquakes are not just a simple news but these are very strong reminders for preparing to built a better society. These are few of the early warning and according to the weather experts there might be even more worse earthquakes in the future.
