IRCTC Free Wi-Fi:
In a significant move to enhance the Digital India initiative, the Indian government has announced the availability of free high-speed Wi-Fi at over 6,100 railway stations across the country. This new facility is aimed at providing better connectivity to passengers, ensuring they can stay connected during their journeys.
The free Wi-Fi service will be available through a partnership with RailTel, a government-owned telecom company. With 4G/5G coverage already present at most stations, passengers can now use the Wi-Fi service to download movies, songs, games, and even complete office work during transit. This is expected to make travel more convenient, especially during long waits at stations.
How to Connect to Free Wi-Fi at Railway Stations
1. Turn on the Wi-Fi mode on your smartphone.
2. Select the “RailWire” network.
3. Enter your mobile number and get an OTP (One-Time Password) via SMS.
4. Enter the OTP and begin using the high-speed Wi-Fi.
This service is available at a majority of railway stations, making it easier for passengers to stay connected on the go.
The introduction of free Wi-Fi is expected to improve the overall passenger experience and encourage the use of digital platforms, enhancing the journey for millions of travelers every day.
