IRCTC New Ticket Rules 2025: IRCTC took a step favorable to the passenger, and the so-called TTEs after 10 pm shall not check tickets under the 2025 guidelines. This is to provide enhanced comfort and amenities to night travelers on long-distance journeys provided by the Indian Railways.
According to the IRCTC Ticket Rules 2025, passengers with valid reservation tickets can now sleep uninterrupted after 10 p.m. The time of inspection of tickets by TTEs is from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. If you have boarded anytime before 10 p.m. and have shown the ticket, then no further checks will disturb your sleep.
The exception only stands for situations wherein you board the train after 10 p.m.: in such cases, a TTE can check your ticket at the time of boarding.
Such a facility ensures a sober night journey for aged female passengers traveling with infants. Passengers often complain about being awakened in the middle of the night for ticket verification. Through this rule, IRCTC would like to ensure more sleep and safety on board.

Late Boarders: Passengers boarding after 10 pm will showcase their tickets for entry.
No Change After 10 PM: Before 10 pm, all TTEs must finalize any bilateral repositioning to RAC/Tatkal wait-listed passengers.
For the Purposes of Security Checks: RPF ordinarily may conduct a security check at any time; still, they have nothing to do with ticket checks in this domain.
