IRCTC Renovates Secunderabad Railway Station. Indeed, the famous Secunderabad Railway Station is on a resounding renovation to provide end-to-end services just before the close of the year 2025. Over ₹700 crore has been earmarked for the transformation that promises to incorporate high-end infrastructure, improved connectivity, and airport-style amenities.
At mid-2025 nearly 40% of the construction work was done. The whole project entails demolition of the old structures and erecting new terminal buildings, parking, and amenities for passengers. The whole work is being done to be completed around October-November 2025.
Airport Like Terminals
Two new terminal buildings are going to be built on the north-south sides of the station, ground plus three floors. These terminals are increase the capacity, with advanced ticketing zones, lounges, waiting areas, and digital display systems.
Sky Concourse Travelators
It will be a two-level sky concourse key with wide foot overbridges connecting the platforms, with travelators (moving walkways) to ease movement as one would not need to walk very long to get between the different platforms or to the metro station.
Parking Made Easy
While such a structure will come up on the northern side, the southern section will have underground parking made for more than 200 vehicles. This will help in a significant way in relieving the congestion of traffic around the station.
All-inclusive Accessibility Infrastructure
About 26 lifts, 32 escalators and ramps are planned for smoother access to the renovated station, for elderly customers and differently-abled passengers. Widened platforms and new footbridges are also under construction.
Retail, Cafes & Recreation
This includes having dedicated retail zones, cafes, and rest areas. Passengers can shop, unwind, or munch away waiting for trains—transforming it from being just a stopover.

Greener & Smart Features
The project also includes solar power systems, sewage treatment, and smart surveillance (CCTV). Major upgradation of the travel experience includes digital kiosks and LED signage.
Better Connectivity
A skywalk will be provided for direct access to the Secunderabad Metro Station. Connections with MMTS and TSRTC buses will be enhanced to facilitate hassle-free multi-modal travel.
