Jammu High Alert: Security was heightened at Jammu Tawi Railway Station after the Border Security Force (BSF) caught a pigeon along the India-Pakistan international border in the RS Pura sector with a chit bearing a threat of an “IED blast”.
On August 18, the pigeon was spotted flying near a forward post in the Khatmarian neighborhood of RS Pura, according to officials. It carried messages in Urdu and English on a slip fastened to its leg. According to sources, it said: “Jammu Station IED Blast,” “Waqt Aa Gaya Hai, Aa Jayega” (The moment has come, it will arrive), and “Kashmir Hamara Hai” (Kashmir is ours).
According to reports, BSF soldiers were able to capture a pigeon that was flying close to a forward post along the border. After that, the bird was given to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, who have already opened an inquiry. Security measures at Jammu Tawi Railway Station were reinforced after the threat note was recovered. Mock drills and increased surveillance, according to railway officials, are standard procedures.

Officials stated that personnel were also stationed along the railway track and that “the Railway Police Force, along with GRP and men in civvies, are maintaining alert at all vulnerable points of the Railway Station.” According to reports, the BSF and other security forces are investigating if the pigeon crossed the border via air.
