Mohit Suri Thanks Sandeep Reddy Vanga for Backing ‘Saiyaara’ After Film Crosses ₹100 Crore

Director Mohit Suri is riding high on the success of his latest romantic musical, Saiyaara, and he’s giving credit where it’s due. The film, starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has made waves at the box office by crossing ₹100 crore in just four days. Now, Suri has publicly thanked Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for believing in the project early on.

Mohit Suri Shares Heartfelt Thanks to Vanga

On Thursday, Mohit Suri took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote a moving note thanking Vanga for his early support. “Sandeep, thank you for being the first one to openly support and express your generous belief in Saiyaara. It meant the world coming from a filmmaker whose craft I deeply admire,” he posted.

Suri praised Vanga’s unique style of storytelling, saying, “I’ve always respected the raw emotion, fearlessness, and intensity you bring to your stories. It reminds me why we do what we do—to move people, to connect.” He added that it was an honour to walk the same creative path as a visionary like Vanga.

Vanga Supported Saiyaara Before Its Release

Before Saiyaara even hit theatres, Vanga had shown his support by sharing the film’s trailer on his social media. After the release, he reached out personally to Suri, praising the film and its emotional core.

Suri revealed in a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan that he regrets not returning the gesture when Animal released. He admitted he had admired the film deeply but didn’t publicly share his thoughts because he was on a social media break. “I messaged him at the time, telling him I could see the director’s vision in every frame,” Suri said.

Regret Over Not Publicly Supporting Animal

Suri confessed that his silence still bothers him. “Personal praise is common, but public acknowledgment is rare,” he explained. “Sandeep did both, and that takes a secure and generous person. My wife even told me it takes confidence to support someone like that in the open.”

With Saiyaara’s massive success and a newfound bond between two of Bollywood’s most intense storytellers, fans can expect more heartfelt cinema in the future.
