Mumbai Red Alert: A Red alert was issued by the IMD for the city and surrounding regions on Monday after Mumbai saw heavy rainfall for the third day in a row. Drivers reported sluggish traffic and decreased visibility in several areas due to the intense downpours. On Monday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation announced a holiday for all Mumbai schools and colleges that start sessions after noon.
The IMD forecast on Monday predicted moderate to heavy rainfall across Mumbai and its suburbs, with chances of extremely heavy rain and strong winds at night. It placed the temperature range between 27°C and 24°C. Heavy rain flooded some roads and left waterlogged spots in low-lying areas such as the Lokhandwala Complex and the Andheri Subway, disrupting traffic movement.
