AIIMS Gorakpur has approved new medical courses for the students on Monday. Apart from the new courses, they have also included the Post-Doctoral Certificate Course (PDCC) in Adolescent Gynecology, the institute announced.

According to the AIIMS media cell, the meeting, which was presided over by Ashoka Jahnavi Prasad, executive director of AIIMS-Gorakhpur, approved a number of initiatives targeted at advancing medical education, bolstering research, and expanding academic programs.
The Department of Anaesthesia, Pain Medicine, and Critical Care’s DM programs in Neurology, Pain Medicine, Clinical Pharmacology, and Critical Care Medicine were approved by the SAC. According to institute sources, PDCC courses in trauma anesthesia, spine trauma, pelvic-acetabular surgery, and adolescent gynecology were also approved; several of them were the first of their kind in the nation.

A Maternal-Foetal Medicine Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) within the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department was also approved. Additionally, the commission approved M.Sc., PhD in Nursing, and MS in Trauma Surgery within the Department of Trauma and Emergency Medicine, with a B.Sc. in Nursing Psychology. “Operation Theatre Technology course,” they said. Prasad emphasized the critical need for ongoing psychological care and preventive measures on campus, pointing out the growing worry of student suicides in educational institutions.
