This incident immediately became a trending topic among social media users who found the error amusing and puzzling. Memes, jokes, and plenty of speculation began populating X (formerly Twitter). Some calling him the “richest man on Earth by glitch,” while others were joking about how he should “withdraw before they notice.”
This accidental fortune brought comparisons to funny movie plots and fictional billionaires, with many asking what they would do with such an amount.
Such anomalies are not very rare and are generated normally by some technical errors or backend glitches in the banking software. The amount involved in this deposit error is large enough to assume that it was an issue of display rather than an actual credit. Kotak Mahindra Bank has yet not released a formal statement. But an investigation into the error is expected to be underway.
