Zubeen Garg’s Death: A key development in the probe concerning the death of singer Zubeen Garg is that a relative of the deceased singer-an Assam police officer-has been arrested under the name, Sandeepan Garg. This was largely built on the findings of the probe team, which linked him to events leading to Subin Garg’s untimely demise.
Media reports claim that Sandeepan Garg had traveled with Zubeen Garg to the party held on a cruise ship in Singapore just a few days before the singer’s untimely death by drowning while swimming on 19 September 2025. Authorities had previously interrogated him concerning the facts that surrounded the incident. This arrest makes Sandeepan Garg the third person to be apprehended after Zubeen Garg’s manager, Siddharth Sharma, and festival organizer, Shyamkanu Mahanta. Both were arrested at their residences. While Sharma was arrested in the state of Gurugram, Mahanta was apprehended after he arrived at Delhi airport from Singapore.
The postmortem already concluded Zubeen Garg’s accidental drowning, but investigators have gone after how this accident has happened and conducted a second postmortem in Assam after the body was sent from Singapore. Now the special investigation team is interrogating every individual who traveled to Singapore with him in relation to additional inquiries on the festival organizers.
Sitting down and listening to the hit song “Ya Ali” from the Hindi film Gangster made Zubeen Garg a household name, and the whole nation mourned as he again razed fans along with investigations.
