Rupee Rises 31 Paise: The value of the Indian rupee has increased 31 paise versus the US dollar, reaching its highest intraday level in 20 days, or since July 30, 2025. The domestic currency’s increase follows some domestic and international causes.

The rupee is predicted to fluctuate between 87.20 and 87.60 today after closing at 87.35 versus the US dollar on Monday. Due to traders reducing their bets for a September rate cut and US President Trump’s negotiations to stop the war in Ukraine, the dollar index increased to 98.21.

Exporters are anticipated to hedge their exports at 87.60, while importers would wait for hedging and purchase for cash at the day’s lowest level, according to Anil Kumar Bhansali, Head of Treasury and Executive Director of Finrex Treasury Advisors LLP.

“Apart from this, the traders who were betting a 95% chance of a FED cut in September pared the bets down to 83% taking the dollar index higher and also the US 10-year to 4.3360%”, Bhansali said.

Amid unsuccessful negotiations between Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky, the price of Brent crude oil was trading at about $66.33 per barrel in the morning. According to Bhansali, there is currently no discernible net investor position in the US dollar, since the currency’s positioning has changed from a tiny short to zero.

He went on to say that when PM Modi announced many growth-oriented measures, including adjustments to the GST regime, Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) started purchasing Indian stocks again, which contributed to the rupee’s increase. Given that the dollar index is rising and the Nifty is opening lower, the rupee is anticipated to open flat and trade within the anticipated range.
