Saudi Arabia has launched its very first special edition of the world-famous board game Monopoly -Riyadh Monopoly. Unveiled recently at the cutting-edge King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) Conference Centre in Riyadh, this unique version celebrates the city’s culture, landmarks, and growth. The game will be available nationwide starting September 2025.
Riyadh Monopoly is licensed by Hasbro and developed by KEAD Entertainment. It lets players buy and trade iconic places across Riyadh. From the financial hub of KAFD Financial Plaza and vibrant Souk Al Zal to the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Hotel and the Diplomatic Quarter, every property represents a real piece of the city.
This edition reflects Riyadh’s rapid modernization while honoring its rich heritage. The game combines entertainment with education, inviting players to explore Riyadh’s neighborhoods, cultural landmarks, and economic centers.
Riyadh has one of the youngest populations in the world, with more than 50% under the age of 20. Mazroua Al-Mazroua, Chief Marketing and Experience Officer at KAFD Development and Management Company, says Riyadh Monopoly is designed to engage this young audience. “We want to make strategic projects accessible and fun,” he explains. “This game connects generations and teaches them about Riyadh’s transformation.”
Sharif Hamad bin Majed Alowaishiq, founder of the Saudi Youth Society, praises the initiative for combining cultural awareness with entertainment. He calls it “a platform for young people to learn about their roots while imagining Riyadh’s future.”

Monopoly has sold over 275 million copies worldwide and holds a Guinness World Record as the best-selling board game. Riyadh Monopoly now joins a global list of city editions, making Saudi Arabia part of Monopoly’s international story.
