School and College Holiday Tomorrow Announced in Four States

School and College Holiday:
Cyclone Montha is moving closer to the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh. Weather experts have warned that many parts of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana and Tamil Nadu will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next few days. Strong winds and rough sea conditions are also expected. To keep students safe from the bad weather, many schools and colleges have announced holidays in these states.


School and College Holiday:

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Telangana and Tamil Nadu are under orange and yellow alerts because of the upcoming cyclonic storm. Due to these alerts, governments and district authorities have decided to temporarily close educational institutions.

School Holiday Details

Andhra Pradesh:

Educational institutes in 12 districts will remain closed until October 31. The affected districts include Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu and YSR Kadapa. Authorities have asked people in these coastal regions to stay alert and avoid unnecessary travel.


Odisha:

Schools in several southern and western districts will remain shut until October 30. These districts are Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Kalahandi. Local officials are keeping a close watch on the rainfall situation to keep students safe.

Tamil Nadu:

Tamil Nadu is also preparing for strong rains as the cyclone moves toward the Andhra coast. Schools and colleges may remain closed on October 29 in different districts depending on weather conditions. In Tiruvallur district, schools have already been closed because of continuous rainfall.

Telangana:

Some districts in Telangana such as Khammam, Bhadradri and Kothagudem are expected to receive heavy showers. Schools and colleges in these areas are likely to stay closed on October 29 to ensure student safety.

* Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema: Very heavy rain October 27–28
* Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam: Rainfall from October 26–30
* Odisha and Telangana: Heavy rain expected October 27–30

Authorities have asked the public to follow weather updates, stay indoors during heavy winds and avoid low-lying areas. The safety of students remains the first priority as Cyclone Montha moves inland.
