School Holiday Today:
As the festive season approaches, many states in India are entering holiday mode. With Diwali just around the corner, schools across various states have started announcing vacation dates. For students, this week brings a wave of joy as they get to enjoy long breaks for celebrations like Dhanteras, Chhoti Diwali, Diwali, Govardhan Puja, and Bhai Dooj. In most places, schools have either already closed from October 13 or will remain shut on October 14, Tuesday.
In Karnataka, schools have been closed from October 8 to October 18 due to the ongoing Caste-Based Socio-Educational Survey. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced this break so that teachers can participate in the survey process. Initially, it was supposed to end by October 7, but delays in districts like Udupi and Dakshina Kannada have pushed the completion date further. As a result, schools will remain closed until the survey concludes.
In Rajasthan, the Education Department has declared Diwali holidays from October 13 to October 24. Including weekends, students and teachers will get 12 days of vacation. The break began officially after Sunday, October 12, giving everyone time to enjoy the festive season.
The Uttar Pradesh Education Department has announced holidays for Diwali from October 20 to October 23. With Sunday, October 19, added, students in UP will have five continuous days off.
In Bihar, schools will remain closed from October 18 for Diwali and Chhath Puja celebrations. The holidays will continue for several days as families prepare for back-to-back festivals. Meanwhile, in Jammu and Kashmir, some schools are likely to stay closed due to irregular rainfall. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and will issue new updates if weather conditions worsen.
Overall, the festive season has brought cheer to students across India, giving them a chance to celebrate with their families and take a well-deserved break from studies.
