The students and employees in Hyderabad are set to enjoy a short break, as the Hyderabad District Collector has officially announced a holiday on November 11 due to the Jubilee Hills by-election. As per the official order, all government offices, private institutions, and schools within the Jubilee Hills constituency will remain closed on the polling day.

Schools and Offices Closed:

The Collector, Harichandan, issued the circular declaring a paid holiday for all employees working in the polling areas. This decision is to ensure smooth conduct of the election and encourage citizens to participate in voting without any inconvenience.

Additionally, schools and offices that serve as polling stations will also remain closed a day earlier, on November 10, for polling arrangements. Hence, students studying in those schools will have two consecutive holidays — November 10 and 11.

The authorities also mentioned that on November 14, the day of vote counting, only those institutions where counting centers are set up will have a holiday. Employees working at these centers will be given a paid holiday as well.

For students who are usually busy with homework and projects, these holidays come as a refreshing break. Many schools already observe the second Saturday as a holiday, which makes this period even more relaxing for them.

The by-election in Jubilee Hills was scheduled following the sudden demise of sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath. His wife Sunitha Gopinath is contesting on behalf of the Congress party, while Naveen Yadav represents BRS and Deepak Reddy stands for BJP.

With the upcoming poll, Hyderabad’s educational institutions and offices are preparing for a peaceful election day. This announcement has brought excitement among students and relief among working employees who now look forward to a long weekend.
