Schools Closed Today in These States Due To Heavy Rains

Schools Closed Today :

Many parts of North India have been experiencing heavy rain for the past two days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The alert was earlier at yellow level, but continuous rainfall and thunderstorms have increased concerns. Cities like Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad are affected by waterlogging and traffic issues. Parents and students are waiting for official updates on school closures.

Schools Closed Today :

In Noida and Greater Noida, all government and private schools will remain closed on September 3. The District Magistrate has issued an order for the closure due to heavy rain. The same applies to Ghaziabad, where all schools will be shut to ensure student safety. Bulandshahr and Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh have also declared a holiday for schools.

The situation is similar in Punjab, where the government has extended school closures because of floods caused by continuous rain. All schools, including private and government, will remain shut on September 3 in the state. Chandigarh has also ordered schools to remain closed after reviewing the weather conditions.

In Gurugram, schools were asked to conduct online classes on September 2, but there is no official order yet for September 3. Students are advised to stay in touch with their schools for the latest updates. Meanwhile, Delhi has not announced any holiday so far. If heavy rainfall continues, an announcement may be made soon.

Other states are also facing issues. In Himachal Pradesh, the Deputy Commissioner ordered the closure of all educational institutions, including schools and colleges, due to heavy rains and landslides. Uttarakhand has declared a holiday for schools and Anganwadi centers in Chamoli district.

Authorities have requested parents and students to stay safe and avoid unnecessary travel. With rain showing no sign of stopping, more updates on school closures are expected in the coming hours.
