Telangana Engineering Fees 2025:
In a major relief for students and parents, the Telangana government has announced that the existing fee structure for engineering and vocational courses will continue for the 2025–28 academic years. This means that there will be no fee hike this year for courses like Engineering, MBA, Pharmacy, and other professional undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs.
Education Secretary Yogita Rana announced that the department has decided to postpone the fee revision, even though the rules require an update for the new academic cycle. The existing fees, fixed for the 2022–25 term, will remain unchanged for an additional year.
The government also clarified that proposals from private engineering colleges to increase fees were not in line with the directions of the Supreme Court and High Court. Several private colleges, especially around Hyderabad, had demanded up to a 100% hike, with some proposing fees as high as ₹2.5 lakhs per year compared to last year’s maximum of ₹1.6 lakhs.
The authorities will form a special committee to review the fee hike proposals and assess their justification to ensure transparency and fairness. This committee will also study how other states are implementing the court’s guidelines and may suggest further improvements in fee regulation.
Additionally, the Telangana government will inspect all engineering colleges to check whether they are providing proper facilities and paying salaries to faculty members as per norms.
This move is being appreciated by many families who were concerned about the increasing cost of professional education.
