Telangana State-Wide Bandh: The Telangana High Court’s stay order on BC reservations has sparked a major political debate across the state. Backward Class (BC) groups have expressed strong dissatisfaction over the decision.
BC leader and MP R. Krishnaiah announced a statewide bandh on October 14, coordinating with various BC organizations. He condemned the High Court’s stay on BC reservations issued after the election notification, calling it an undemocratic move that violates the rights of BCs. Krishnaiah described the bandh as the first step to protect the political and social rights of the BC community.
Addressing a press conference, Krishnaiah vowed to intensify the BC movement in the coming days. He warned that the agitation would continue until the government fulfills its demands. “BCs must secure proper political representation,” he declared. “The High Court’s stay goes against the people’s will. We will expose those responsible for this decision. If needed, we will launch a massive movement like the Million March,” Krishnaiah asserted.

He urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, other political parties, and social organizations to support the bandh. He stressed that people must view the BC issue beyond party lines and recognize it as a matter of social justice rather than politics. BC associations, student unions, and employee groups have declared their support for the bandh. Officials and activists began preparations across several districts to ensure its success.
As the BC reservation issue grows into a major political topic ahead of the elections, Krishnaiah’s call for legal action and public mobilization has energized the debate. Analysts predict the upcoming BC bandh will reshape Telangana’s political landscape in the coming days.
