Vande Bharat Express Train Speed: Indian Railways (IR) has transformed the rail travel experience throughout its extensive network with the launch of the Vande Bharat Express. These semi-high-speed trains have operated with full occupancy since their launch in 2019. At the moment, 150 Vande Bharat Express train services, 75 UP and 75 Down, are available nationwide.
Vande Bharat Express Train Speed:
The Vande Bharat trains, created by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, have greatly improved intercity connectivity while cutting down on travel time. Although their maximum operating speed is 160 kmph, the Vande Bharat Express trains are built to reach a maximum speed of 180 kmph. However, some variables, like as the track’s geometry, halts encountered during travel, section maintenance, etc., affect a train’s speed.

Additional Information:
In addition to this, some additional Vande Bharat trains also reach 130 kmph, although only on certain sections of their routes rather than the whole trip. For instance, the Prayagraj–Varanasi segment is only allowed to go at 110 kmph, although the Varanasi–New Delhi Vande Bharat Express travels at 130 kmph between New Delhi and Prayagraj. Similarly, the New Delhi–Katra service, India’s second Vande Bharat train, maintains a speed of 130 kmph between New Delhi and Ludhiana but drops to 110 kmph beyond Ludhiana.
