The Andhra Pradesh government has declared holidays for many schools and colleges today because of the weather threat from Cyclone Montha. Heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected in several coastal areas. To ensure the safety of students, officials have taken precautionary steps and announced holidays.

Cyclone Montha is likely to bring wind speeds of nearly 90 to 110 km per hour when it gets closer to the coast. Due to these dangerous conditions, the administration has warned the public to be alert. People living in low-lying and coastal areas are advised to stay indoors and follow government guidelines. Safety is the first priority for everyone, especially for children who travel to schools every day.

District collectors in many regions have decided to close all government and private educational institutions for the next three days depending on the weather situation. Schools, colleges, gurukul schools, and other educational centers will remain closed. Students are given the instruction to stay at home and remain safe until further notice from officials.

Today, a holiday has been officially confirmed in Krishna and NTR districts. Along with these areas, Nellore and Tirupati have also announced holidays after reviewing the changed weather conditions. Earlier, there were no holidays announced in those districts, although now the situation has become more serious and precautions are necessary.

Hostel students are requested to travel back home safely. Welfare officials have been directed to make proper arrangements for SC, BC, minority, and other government hostel students to reach their homes by this evening. Parents and guardians are advised to take care of their children and avoid unnecessary travel.

Weather reports suggest heavy to very heavy rainfall in some districts. Lightning and thunderstorms could also occur. Therefore, officials are asking the public not to stay near waterlogged areas or open fields during the cyclone period.

The government has clearly stated that public safety is more important than anything else. Citizens are asked to follow instructions and remain alert until the cyclone situation becomes normal. More updates will be given if required.
