Tomorrow School Holiday Declared in Parts of Andhra Pradesh

Tomorrow School Holiday Declared:

Several districts in Andhra Pradesh have been witnessing continuous heavy rain since Thursday morning. The nonstop downpour has caused waterlogging in many areas, disrupting normal life. According to weather reports, the rainfall is likely to continue on Friday as well.

Tomorrow School Holiday Declared:

Districts such as Chittoor, Tirupati, Anakapalli, Eluru, East Godavari, NTR, combined East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, and Parvathipuram have been receiving heavy to very heavy rains since early morning. Roads in several towns and villages are flooded, making it difficult for people to travel. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of more rain in the next 24 hours due to a low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal.

Considering the safety of students and the weather conditions, the Collector of East Godavari district, Nagarani, has declared a holiday for all government and private schools and Anganwadi centres on Friday (October 24, 2025). The announcement was made to ensure that children and staff do not face any travel risks due to the heavy rainfall and waterlogging in several parts of the district.

Officials have also advised the public to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel. Emergency teams are on alert to handle any flood-related issues. In low-lying areas, drainage water has entered houses, and electricity supply has been disrupted in some villages.

People in Chittoor, Tirupati, and NTR districts have reported continuous rain since morning, with dark clouds covering the sky throughout the day. Authorities have requested residents to be cautious, especially near rivers, canals, and underpasses where flooding is likely.

While the rain has caused inconvenience to many, it has also brought relief to farmers who were waiting for sufficient rainfall for their crops. The government has said that further decisions on school holidays in other districts will depend on tomorrow’s weather conditions.
