Stampede in Kasibugga Venkateswara Temple: Tragic incident struck in Srikakulam district. A stampede occurred at the Kasibugga Venkateswara Swamy temple. According to the local sources around 12 devotees died. The temple was crowded with an unexpected number of devotees. Suddenly, the railing was blown away as they pushed forward. At the same time, the railing blew away and everyone there fell down. The female devotees were in great trouble after falling on top of each other and could not breathe. Some of them lost their lives on the spot.


Endowments Department Statement on Stampede Situation:
The Endowments Department has issued a statement on the Srikakulam stampede. It has been clarified that the management of the Kasibugga temple is not under the purview of the Endowments Department. It is said that it is a private temple. It is said that the temple was built by the Odisha royal family, who are encroaching on Tirumala. Endowments Department officials said that the temple administrators did not inform the government about the arrival of devotees. The statement said that the failure of the temple administrators was the reason for the stampede.
