TTD Suspended Four Employees: Rules You Must Follow To Keep Your Job

TTD Suspended Four Employees: In a bold move to maintain the institution’s values, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) suspended four employees who had allegedly failed to adhere to the organization’s religious code of conduct. These employees were reportedly engaging in Christian practices, which is grossly contrary to expectations of an employee of the Hindu religious establishment in question.

Why Were These Employees Suspended?

TTD made recent headlines when it suspended four employees for alleged violation of the institution’s religious code of conduct. Reports have it that the employees were practicing Christianity while working at TTD, a foremost Hindu religious trust, which was seen as opposed to the ethical conventions of the organization.

Those suspended include:

B. Elizar, Dy. Engg. Quality Control

S. Rossi, Staff Nurse, Bird Hospital

M. Premavati, Grade-1 Pharmacist

G. Asuntha, from SV Ayurveda Pharmacy

The TTD stated that these individuals failed to follow the its code of conduct that is expected from employees working in such a sacred and religiously governed environment.

TTD Code of Conduct: What It Means to The Employees
TTD does not function merely as an administrative body but very much like a religious institution. Employees are expected to uphold the values and customs of the organization even in non-religious roles. This means:

Refraining from practices/activities which are contrary to those of the institution

Respecting Hindu traditions and rituals being practiced at TTD

Maintaining religious decorum during their work

Avoiding any public/private acts that could lead the questioning of their allegiance to TTD’s religious mission

What Precedent Is Now Set?

This isn’t a lone incident. Rajasekhar Babu, the AEO, was suspended also when it was found that he was regular at church services on Sundays. They suspended him after complaints and investigations into breaches against employment policies of TTD took place.

Keep The Rules If You Want To Keep The Job

The recent suspensions serve as a reminder that an equally responsible engagement at TTD is demanded from these employees. While much might be discussed on personal belief in the working of any environment, the expectation in a religious one is that its employee will reciprocally follow the codes according to the norms of faith. Failure to do this is, of course, going to be dealt with sternly, with suspension or instant dismissal on the waiting list.
