If you’ve changed your address or your phone number, you can now quickly update your Aadhaar information. UIDAI will introduce a much easier online method in November 2025. You can even make changes to your name, date of birth, address, and phone number from home! Updating your information this way is faster and we’ll have no lines!
New Acceptable Address Proof
You can now use utility bills (like electricity bills) as proof of your address. Sometimes the most updated evidence of an ongoing address is utility bills. We can finally put aside archaic formats of address proof (like rental agreements & passports) to allow more efficient updating of your address.
New Mobile Aadhaar App Soon:
UIDAI are working on the development of a mobile app to make Aadhaar as mobile friendly as possible. The mobile app will provide you with a secure digital version of your Aadhaar with a QR code so you won’t have to carry a physical photocopy of your card.
You can also use the digital Aadhaar to access your KYC, and more importantly, you can now easily and securely share your Aadhaar information with a masked version.
– Go to the UIDAI website or myAadhaar
– Select the detail you want to update (name, address, DOB, phone number).
– Upload or select government documents for verification.
– In the case of updating address, use utility bills if necessary.
– Enter the OTP sent to your linked mobile number.
– Submit your update request.
