US Praises Pakistan Efforts in Combating Terrorism

US Praises Pakistan:

The United States praised Pakistan for its efforts in fighting terrorism. This came after the Pakistan-US Counter-Terrorism Dialogue in Islamabad. The US acknowledged Pakistan’s successes in tackling terrorist groups that threaten regional and global security. It also expressed condolences for the lives lost in recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan.

US Praises Pakistan:

During the dialogue, the US and Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to combat terrorism in all forms. The two nations highlighted the need to strengthen their cooperation in addressing security challenges. They also discussed the importance of countering the use of emerging technologies for terrorism.

US and Pakistan:

The dialogue was co-chaired by Nabeel Munir, Special Secretary for the United Nations, and Gregory D. LoGerfo, Acting Coordinator for Counterterrorism at the US Department of State. A joint statement from the meeting emphasized the importance of international collaboration in counterterrorism efforts.

The US extended condolences for the lives lost in terrorist incidents in Pakistan, including the Jaffar Express attack and the bombing of a school bus in Khuzdar. The US also praised Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to control terrorist organizations. Both sides agreed on the necessity of building stronger institutional frameworks to handle these security challenges.

The dialogue took place shortly after Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir made nuclear threats towards India. He suggested that if Pakistan were to face an existential threat, it could resort to nuclear action. Both the US and Pakistan reaffirmed the importance of their longstanding partnership in counterterrorism. They also emphasized the need for sustained, structured engagement between the two nations to promote peace and stability.

Both countries agreed on the importance of working together in multilateral forums, like the United Nations, to ensure lasting solutions to global terrorism.
