Telangana Weather Today: The Meteorological Department has been saying for the last two or three days that Telangana will receive heavy rains due to the influence of monsoon and low-pressure trough. But except for some areas in the joint Adilabad and Nizamabad districts, there has been no heavy rain in the other districts. Due to this, the deficit rainfall in Telangana is still continuing. Farmers are waiting for rains.
The Meteorological Department has announced that there is no chance of heavy rains except for scattered showers in Telangana for the next two to three days, i.e. till July 13. Today (July 10, Thursday) there is a chance of heavy rains at one or two places in Adilabad, Asifabad and Nirmal districts… It has been said that there is a possibility of good rainfall here and there in Nizamabad districts as well. The Meteorological Department has said that there will be only moderate rains in the rest of Telangana districts.
It has been announced that scattered showers will occur in Sircilla, Karimnagar, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanmakonda, Janagama, Sangareddy, Siddipet and Medak districts. It has been said that light showers are likely to occur in Hyderabad and its suburbs Medchal, Rangareddy, Bhuvanagiri and Vikarabad in the afternoon or evening. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the districts where there is a possibility of rain.
The Telugu states have not received the expected rainfall so far. There has been a deficit in rainfall throughout the month of June. There has been no heavy rainfall in July either. However, the main rivers in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the Krishna and Godavari rivers, are overflowing. The reservoirs on these rivers have become like full ponds. Due to this, there have been flood conditions in the Telugu states without any rainfall.
Heavy rains in Maharashtra and Karnataka upstream are causing huge flood water to reach the rivers in the Telugu states. The Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar reservoirs have already reached their full water level with flood water. With this, the gates are being opened and water is being released downstream. Now the flood flow in the Godavari river has also increased.
