Hair Colour Last Longer:
Colouring your hair can instantly change your look and boost your confidence. Whether it’s a soft brown shade or a bold burgundy tone, freshly coloured hair always feels special. But keeping that vibrant colour for weeks can be tricky. Pollution, sunlight, and frequent washing can make your hair fade faster. Here are five easy tips to help your hair colour stay beautiful for a long time.
1. Wash your hair less often
The more you wash your hair, the faster the colour fades. Every shampoo removes a bit of pigment. Try washing your hair two or three times a week instead of daily. Always use cold or lukewarm water—hot water opens the hair cuticles and lets the colour escape. Choose shampoos and conditioners specially made for coloured hair. If your scalp gets oily, use a dry shampoo between washes.
2. Oil your hair the right way
Oiling keeps hair healthy, but coloured hair needs gentle care. Heavy oils like coconut oil can sometimes make the colour fade faster. Use lighter oils such as argan, almond, or jojoba oil instead. Warm up a few drops, massage gently before shampooing, and wash it off after 30 minutes. This helps restore shine and moisture without affecting the colour.
3. Protect from heat and sunlight
Heat styling tools and sunlight are the biggest enemies of coloured hair. Always apply a heat protectant before using straighteners or dryers. When going out in the sun, wear a scarf or hat, or spray a UV-protectant mist on your hair. Think of it like sunscreen for your hair!
4. Use colour-protecting masks
A deep-conditioning hair mask once a week keeps coloured hair soft and shiny. You can even make one at home with curd, aloe vera gel, and argan oil. Apply it for 20 minutes and rinse with cool water. It helps lock in moisture and colour.
5. Avoid too many chemical treatments
Don’t colour, bleach, or straighten your hair too often. Leave at least 6–8 weeks between treatments to let your hair recover.
