April Fool’s Day is celebrated every year on the first day of April. You can also consider it as Prank Day, which is celebrated all over the world. On this day people joke or prank their friends, family, and loved ones, which makes this day happy and fun. Actually, these jokes are to fool people. This is why this day is also considered Fool’s Day. It is celebrated all over the world, so many times big companies also do such pranks with their consumers on the occasion of this day.

Joking on April Fool’s Day can be as fun as it can be dangerous, especially when the prank backfires. Here are some funny April Fool’s fails, when people’s jokes backfired.

1. Google’s ‘Mic Drop’ feature turned off on its own


In 2016, Google added a new button to Gmail—’Mic’ Drop.’ On pressing this button, the Minion GIF was sent, and the conversation ended there. This also failed as some people sent this mail to their boss. Some people also used it in serious business emails and got badly trapped. People’s complaints increased so much that Google had to remove this feature within a few hours.

2. BBC’s news of flying penguins

In 2008, BBC ran a documentary that showed that penguins have now started flying. People believed it to be true and started sending a lot of calls and emails to the BBC. This failed when people started planning to go to the Arctic to see penguins.

3. Burger King’s left-handed burger

In 1998, Burger King released an advertisement that they have launched a ‘left-handed burger,’ which is specially made for left-handed people. People believed it to be true and started ordering this special burger. Some people demanded to change their burger from right-handed to left-handed. Later, Burger King had to tell them that it was just an April Fool’s joke.

4. Fake pregnancy prank

A girl jokingly told her boyfriend that she was pregnant. The boyfriend got scared, but then the girl did a real test, and it was found that she was really pregnant. The April Fool’s joke became a surprise in itself.

5. Your car has been stolen

A boy called his friend on April Fool’s and told him that, Brother, your car has been stolen. The friend immediately called the police. The police started searching for the car in the area, and when the truth came out, the police caught the pranking friend, and he had to sit in the police station for several hours.

6. Fake breakup prank

A boy told his girlfriend that we should break up. The girlfriend immediately replied, Yes, I was thinking the same thing. The boy said, April Fool! But the girlfriend said, No, I am serious. And then both of them really broke up.

7. Airline’s standing ticket joke

In 2015, on April Fool’s Day, an airline company tweeted that they are now launching standing seats, where passengers can travel standing in the plane. Many people believed it to be true and started sending complaints to the company. Some people even tried to buy tickets in reality. Later the airline had to clarify that it was a joke.

8. The sports channel gave false news of the transfer.

A big sports channel ran the news that football star Cristiano Ronaldo is now joining Barcelona. Ronaldo’s fans got angry, and they completely trolled the channel on social media. Later the channel had to issue an official statement that it was just an April Fool’s joke.
