Government Reduces Electricity Bills:

The Andhra Pradesh government has taken a significant step to reduce the burden of electricity bills on the public. Energy Minister Gottipati Ravikumar announced that the government has decided to cut the Fuel and Power Purchase (FPP) charge from 40 paise per unit to just 13 paise. This move will bring financial relief to lakhs of middle-class and poor families who have been paying high electricity charges for years.

Government Reduces Electricity Bills:

The Minister stated that the previous government had collected high charges under the FPP adjustment, which caused difficulties for common people. To correct this, the current government is reducing the extra charge, making electricity more affordable.

Speaking at an event in Anakapalli district, Ravikumar inaugurated new electricity substations at Choudavada and Kinthali villages. He mentioned that these substations will improve power supply in the region and ensure stable electricity for both urban and rural consumers.

The Minister also shared that the government is strengthening the power infrastructure across the state. As part of this plan, 69 new substations are being constructed in 11 districts with an investment of ₹250 crore. This project aims to improve power transmission and prevent frequent power cuts.

In addition, the government will provide free solar units to 20,000 SC and ST families, allowing them to produce their own power and reduce electricity bills further. This initiative supports the promotion of renewable energy and aims to make Andhra Pradesh a greener state.

Minister Ravikumar also extended his condolences to the families of two people who died due to an electric shock recently. On behalf of the government, he handed over ₹5 lakh compensation cheques to their families.

With these new reforms and development works, Andhra Pradesh aims to provide reliable and affordable electricity to every household.
