Can You Stay Healthy with 7,000 Steps a Day? Research Says

Walking Daily is a great form of exercise. Health experts say that just a little bit of walking every day can make a big difference. A Harvard study found that walking 7,000 steps a day can reduce the risk of heart disease.

Walking about 7,000 steps a day can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), according to a Harvard Health study. The study found that walking 7,000 steps a day was associated with a significantly lower risk of cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality.

Walking Daily and Heart Health

Regular walking improves blood pressure and insulin sensitivity. Walking 7,000 steps a day significantly reduces the risk of CVD and reduces the long-term risk of heart attack and ischemic stroke, the study found.

A recent study by researchers at the University of Sydney found that walking just 7,000 steps a day can reduce the risk of a number of health problems, including falls (28%), dementia (38%), depression (22%), cancer (6%), and heart disease (25%).

Walking is a type of aerobic activity that helps control blood pressure. Over months, regular daily walking reduces systolic and diastolic blood pressures and reduces strain on the heart. The study also found that walking can improve cholesterol and help lower triglycerides.

Walking reduces stress, depressive symptoms, and improves sleep. Lowering stress hormone levels and following better sleep habits can reduce the risk of heart attack over time.
