According to doctors, incorporating ghee into your morning routine can bring various health benefits. In one of her Instagram posts, Shikha mentions that starting your day with just a teaspoon of ghee can stabilize blood sugar levels, control insulin, and help you feel full for longer. She says it helps prevent sugar cravings and boosts energy levels throughout the day.
Shikha also highlights that starting your day with fats like ghee can prevent issues like sugar crashes, morning cravings, and fatigue. She suggests that it is especially helpful for those dealing with conditions like PCOS, acne, and hormonal imbalances.
Shikha believes that glowing skin and balanced hormones come from respecting your body’s needs, not from avoiding fats.
A study published in the Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine in January 2024 also supports the idea that ghee can be beneficial for health. The study notes that ghee and herbal formulas made with ghee (called “ghritas”) can boost immunity and help reduce the risk of diseases. This is due to the presence of compounds like butyric acid and omega-3 fatty acids in ghee.
