Diwali 2025 Exact Date: There is too much confusion about the exact date of Diwali 2025. As the unique lunar alignment is very important during this festival, most of them are confused about the proper Diwali dates. To clear this confusion, the Kashi Vidwat Parishad has declared that Diwali, the festival of lights, would be celebrated on Monday, October 20, 2025. There are arguments on the best day for the festival because this year’s Amavasya Tithi (new moon day), which is the focal point of Diwali, falls on two separate days, from October 20 at 3:44 PM to October 21 at 5:54 PM.
Why is there confusion for Diwali 2025 Exact dates?
The Amavasya Tithi starts on October 20 and ends on October 21, which creates the actual confusion. Although both days are covered by the lunar phase, October 20 is the auspicious Lakshmi Puja Muhurat, which is seen to be the best day for worship. This day, which represents the victory of good over evil and light over darkness, coincides with the customary celebration of Lord Rama’s homecoming to Ayodhya.
