Don’t Skip Breakfast! Here’s What You Need to Know

Don’t Skip Breakfast: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But many people today find themselves skipping breakfast. Studies show that skipping breakfast is not very good for health. Researchers have shown that skipping breakfast increases blood pressure and increases the risk of heart disease.

This is according to a study published in the International Journal of Hypertension. It reviewed data from more than 14,000 adults on the link between skipping breakfast and high blood pressure.

Don’t Skip Breakfast! Here’s What You Need to Know

The study found that people who regularly skip breakfast were 20% more likely to have high blood pressure than those who eat breakfast. High blood pressure, if left untreated, can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and kidney problems.

Skipping breakfast can later affect heart health. Starting the day with a balanced breakfast can help maintain stable blood pressure and support energy levels. When you skip breakfast, cortisol levels can remain high or late. This can lead to stress, high blood pressure, and metabolic imbalances over time.

Skipping breakfast can impair insulin sensitivity and cause blood sugar levels to spike at subsequent meals. Skipping breakfast can lead to overeating or eating unhealthy foods. These habits can increase blood pressure over time.

Additionally, breakfast skippers are more likely to have other risk factors, such as a poor diet, high body weight, and a sedentary lifestyle. These factors combine to increase blood pressure and overall heart disease risk.
