EPFO Alert: What Millions of PF Subscribers Must Be Careful About

EPFO has advised all its members to use official online platforms for PF-related services. The Labour Ministry stated that the EPFO has improved its system to make services fast, simple, and transparent. More than 7 crore members, including employees from private and government sectors, use EPFO services.

EPFO warned members not to share personal PF account information with third-party agents. It stressed that services related to PF claims, KYC updates, and grievance redressal are free. Sharing details with cyber cafes or fintech agents can lead to fraud or data leaks. The EPFO clarified that it does not authorize any private agents or firms to offer these services.

According to EPFO, some cyber café operators and fintech firms are charging high fees for services that are available free of cost. These operators misuse the official EPFO online complaint system. Any EPFO member can use this service without paying anything. EPFO requested users not to depend on outsiders and to avoid visiting cyber cafés or agents for help.

All EPFO services are completely free. This includes claim submissions, transfers, KYC updates, and complaints. Members should not pay anyone for these services. They can directly visit regional offices or contact the official helpline listed on the EPFO website ([www.epfindia.gov.in](http://www.epfindia.gov.in)) for assistance. Public Relations Officers (PROs) are also available to help.

The Labour Ministry said that EPFO has a strong system to monitor and solve complaints. Members can submit issues through CPGRAMS (Centralized Public Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System) or EPFIGMS (EPFI Grievance Management System). In 2024-25, EPFIGMS received 16,01,202 complaints, while CPGRAMS recorded 1,74,328. About 98% of them were resolved within the timeline.

EPFO continues to improve services and ensure members receive full support through secure and official channels. Members should stay alert and avoid agents who make false promises or charge money for free services.
