Fatty Liver Symptoms:
Fatty liver is a growing health problem affecting many people today. It happens when excess fat builds up in the liver, making it difficult for the organ to work properly. Experts warn that ignoring early symptoms can lead to serious liver damage. Dr. Saurabh Sethi, a Harvard-trained doctor, shared the main signs that indicate you may be developing fatty liver disease.
Feeling unusually tired or weak even after proper rest is one of the first signs of fatty liver. The liver helps convert nutrients from food into energy. When fat builds up, this process slows down, leaving you feeling drained and low on energy. You may also feel confused or sleepy during the day signs your liver isn’t functioning efficiently.
People with fatty liver often notice extra fat collecting around their stomach area, even if the rest of their body looks normal. This condition is called central obesity. It happens due to slow metabolism and insulin resistance. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) can occur even without drinking alcohol, mainly due to processed foods and poor diet choices.
If you often feel pain or heaviness on the right side of your stomach just below the ribs it could be a sign of liver inflammation. This pain might not always be sharp but can feel like pressure or discomfort.
Fatty liver can affect how your body responds to insulin. Even after eating, you might still feel hungry or weak. Some people develop dark patches around the neck or underarms another symptom linked to liver issues.
Fat buildup in the liver can raise cholesterol and toxin levels in the body, increasing the risk of heart disease. Poor digestion, nausea, or loss of appetite are other signs of liver trouble.
