Modern Stress, Ancient Solutions
Today’s fast-paced lifestyle has increased stress levels, and it’s starting to impact our health. But experts say following ancient Vastu and Feng Shui tips can help restore balance and wellness at home.
Sleep, Work, and Eat the Feng Shui Way
- Choose a wooden bed without storage underneath – it is healthier, according to Vastu. Avoid metal beds, as they may disturb your health.
- When working or studying, always face north or east. This boosts concentration and promotes mental clarity.
- While cooking or eating, face east or west. Avoid south and southwest, as these directions are believed to attract negative energy.
Home Layout Can Affect Your Health
- Don’t cook with your back to the kitchen door—it can cause body pain over time. Never place stairs, toilets, or kitchens in the northeast corner of the house. This can lead to serious illnesses like cancer or mental health issues.
- Avoid building toilets or storage under staircases. It may increase the risk of heart-related diseases.
- If a tree blocks your main door or window, it could create health problems. Look for open space and natural light, especially from the northeast and northwest.
What to Keep and Avoid at Home
- Place a ‘Tulsi plant’ at home – it promotes health. But never keep cactus or rubber plants. They are believed to cause illness and slow children’s growth.
- Avoid mirrors in the bedroom. If one is present, cover it before sleeping to block negative energy.
- Keep bedroom walls and ceilings different colors to prevent health imbalances. Also, don’t store phones or water near your bed.
Feng Shui for Positive Energy
Hang a bamboo plant or its photo on the wall opposite the main door, it attracts good energy. Place a metal turtle in a water bowl in the north direction to promote long life.
Decorate a sick person’s room with fresh flowers. Remove wilted ones immediately, as they attract negative (yin) energy.
Simple changes can lead to a healthier, happier home.
