Processed Packaged Foods
Usually high in trans fats and sodium, packaged foods have artificial colors and sugars added. All of these components known to cause inflammation also disrupt the body’s hormonal equilibrium. Using fresh and unprocessed foods is a better choice for such items.
High GI Foods
Foods with high glycemic index cause rapid fluctuating changes in blood glucose levels. Thus, reduction in the intake of such high glycemic index foods will really help in increasing insulin sensitivity and reducing symptoms of PCOS.
Fats High in Red Meat
Too much red meat and saturated fats would cause weight gain, which would upset the hormones and leave them unequal. It would, therefore, be better to avoid such foods in favor of low-fat proteins to enhance one’s metabolic health.
