Festivals like Diwali involve a lot of eating. It can be quite hard to resist the delicious foods that you see around you. Therefore, you will eat a lot of sweets and some oily snacks at a party. This rich food can lead to a lot of tummy troubles. Some people can develop clear gas and acidity whilst other people will have constipation and even indigestion.


 

A Simple Herbal Solution

Try making digestive water at home which is designed to help your body digest heavy foods. This drink will effectively help with gas and bloating. The ingredients are generally found in an Indian kitchen. This drink is a natural way to help your gut digest foods.


 

Making the Digestive Water

Take a pan and add two glasses of water to it. Place the pan on the stove and allow it to boil. Add a teaspoon of cumin seeds, a teaspoon of carom seeds, a teaspoon of fennel seeds, and a small amount of grated ginger. Allow the mixture to boil nicely for a minute before turning off the heat.

 

Finishing the Drink

Allow the water to cool slightly. You should be able to drink it while it is warm, but it should not be scalding hot. Add a pinch of black salt and fresh lemon juice and stir thoroughly. Congratulations, you have made a digestive drink.

 

How and When to Use It:

Be sure to drink that water after you eat. Have a warm cup of it. Sip it slowly for the best experience. It will help ease the body to digest some fats and sugars. The feeling of fullness or uncomfortable heaviness will be lessened.

You can also drink green tea. You can use a green tea bag from the store. Or make fresh herbal tea. Boil some fresh tulsi leaves in hot water. Or ginger tea. Herbal drinks are easy on the stomach.
