How to Know When You’re Ovulating? Signs and Symptoms

Ovulation Signs: Ovulation is an important stage in the menstrual cycle. Ovulation is the process by which an egg is released from the ovary and travels to the fallopian tube. Pregnancy occurs when this egg is ready to be fertilized by a sperm.


 

Ovulation usually occurs on the 14th day of a 28-day menstrual cycle. Here are some of the symptoms that occur during ovulation. And here are some ovulation signs.


 

One

The first symptom is changes in cervical mucus (discharge). As ovulation approaches, estrogen levels rise and more discharge occurs. The discharge also becomes clearer and looks like egg white. These days increase the chances of pregnancy.

Two

Another symptom is changes in body temperature. Body temperature increases during ovulation.

Three

Another symptom is changes in the cervix. During ovulation, the cervix becomes softer and more moist than usual. These changes can make it easier for sperm to reach the egg.

Four

Some women experience pain in the lower abdomen or pelvis. This pain is usually milder than menstrual cramps. It is also felt on the same side of the ovary that released the egg.

Nausea and headaches are other symptoms. Hormonal changes during ovulation can cause nausea and headaches. People with chronic migraines are more likely to have severe headaches during ovulation than others.

Six

You may feel less hungry during your ovulation. Estrogen levels are at their highest just before ovulation.

Seven

Another symptom is breast tenderness. Breast tenderness is another side effect of hormonal changes.

Eight

It is not uncommon to experience mood swings during ovulation due to changes in estrogen, LH, and progesterone. You may experience anxiety, depression, irritability, and sadness.
