Link Aadhaar with IRCTC:

The Indian Railways has introduced a new rule starting July 1, 2025. If you want to book Tatkal train tickets on the IRCTC platform, you must link your Aadhaar number with your IRCTC account. Starting July 15, 2025, Indian Railways will implement an OTP-based system. Passengers must complete Aadhaar verification to book Tatkal tickets.

Link Aadhaar with IRCTC:

Here is a simple step-by-step process to link your Aadhaar with your IRCTC account:

1. Login to IRCTC: Go to the IRCTC website and log in using your username and password.

2. Go to My Account: After logging in, click on the “My Account” section in your profile.

3. Select Aadhaar Link Option: Click on the “Link Your Aadhaar” or “Authenticate User” option.

4. Enter Aadhaar Details: A new page will open. Enter your Aadhaar number or Virtual ID and your full name (as printed on your Aadhaar card).

5. Accept Terms: Tick the box to agree with the terms and click on “Send OTP”.

6. Enter OTP: The system will send an OTP to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. You need to enter the OTP on the website and click ‘Verify OTP’.

After successful verification, your Aadhaar will be linked to your IRCTC account.

Important Changes in Tatkal Booking Rules:

From 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, only regular users can book AC class Tatkal tickets. Agents cannot book during this time.

Similarly, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, only individual users can book Non-AC class Tatkal tickets.

This change is to ensure fair access to tickets and avoid agent monopolies.

The new rules will make the Tatkal booking system more secure and accessible to common passengers. Make sure your Aadhaar is linked to your IRCTC account soon to avoid any last-minute problems.
