Oil is one of the most important ingredients in the kitchen. Studies show that oils in general are not very good for health. The fact is that the use of oils is one of the obstacles to heart health, starting with cholesterol.


 

Due to their enticing flavour and convenience, fatty foods are a common component in numerous diets. On the contrary, having these items in excess might have a major adverse impact on your health. This is a developing concern in India. According to a 2023 study by the Indian Council of Medical Research, there has been a startling 40% rise in obesity rates over the last ten years, and poor eating habits, such as consuming too much oil, have been significantly linked to this increase.


A Big Problem?

From the coconut oil of the past, we have now moved to refined oil. This is what refined oil means.

 

Many people think that refined one is good for health, but. Refined oil is something that is harmful. But it is refined using chemicals. It is refined using chemicals like hexane. When refined like this, these are converted into a group called rancid polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Refined oils increase bad cholesterol (LDL). This further clogs the arteries. Secondly, it causes chronic inflammation. This weakens the heart and blood vessels.

Consumption of refined oil can lead to obesity and diabetes. It leaves chemical residues in the body and can also harm the liver and intestinal health. Finally, consumption of refined oil increases the risk of heart attack, stroke, and hypertension.
