Type 2 Diabetes Genetic: Type 2 diabetes is a long term condition that affects blood sugar levels. Many believe it can be passed down from parents. According to experts,genetics play a vital role in diabetes risk., The child has a 30% chance, If a father has type 2 diabetes . While the mother has it, the risk increases to 40%.The risk will increase to 70%,if both parents have diabetes.But lifestyle choices will impact whether a person develops diabetes.


Genetic Factors and Diabetes Risk

There are certain genes which increase the risk of type 2 diabetes.You know that TCF7L2 gene affects insulin production and glucose regulation. If inherited, it raises the likelihood of developing diabetes.But genetics alone do not determine if a person will get diabetes. Diet, exercise and overall health play a significant role.

Lifestyle choices play a major role in diabetes risk. Poor diet, lack of exercise and obesity will increase the chances of developing diabetes.Even in people with a genetic risk by adopting a healthy lifestyle can prevent or delay the disease.

– Getting 7-8 hours of sleep each night.

– Monitoring blood sugar levels regularly.

Although type 2 diabetes can be inherited from the father,by proper lifestyle choices we can have a significant impact on whether it develops. With a balanced diet, regular exercise and proper weight management,the risk can be reduced.By taking preventive measures you can maintain long-term health.
