Jaggery vs Sugar:

Jaggery is a traditional sweetener made by boiling sugarcane juice or palm sap. It is less processed and retains some natural minerals like iron, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. These minerals help improve blood health, strengthen bones, and reduce anemia. Jaggery also works as a natural laxative, which can help digestion and prevent constipation.

On the other hand, white sugar is a refined product. It goes through processing that removes all natural nutrients, leaving only pure glucose. This means sugar provides energy but no vitamins or minerals. Sugar also has a high glycemic index, causing blood sugar levels to spike quickly. This can be harmful, especially for people with diabetes or those trying to control their weight.


Jaggery has a low glycemic index, which means it releases sugar slowly into the blood, keeping energy levels stable. This makes it a better choice for people with diabetes. Moreover, jaggery supports digestion and can help cleanse the body naturally.
