Monsoon Skincare: Do’s and Don’ts for Oily Skin

Monsoon Skincare: Do’s and Don’ts for Oily Skin

Monsoon Skincare: Monsoon is a season that brings a little relief from the unending heat. But for people suffering from oily skin, it is the most uncomfortable time because of humidity. The skin gets clogged with pores filled with oily substances and leads to breakouts. Here is a simplified guide about dos and don’ts in the oily skincare regimen during this rainy season.

Do: Cleanse Twice Daily

The face should be washed at least twice a day using mild, oil-free face wash. Ingredients such as salicylic acid or tea tree oil must be sought for because they get rid of possible acne due to excess oil but do not leave the skin dry.

Don’t: Overwash

Now, this is the most terrible thing to do. You remember, again, that the morning and evening must be the cleansing times.

Do: Use a Light Moisturizer

Even oily skin needs its share of moisture. Water-based or gel-based moisturizers hydrate your skin without causing greasiness. Such magical ingredients as hyaluronic acid work wonders in the monsoon weather.

Don’t: Do not skip on sunscreen

Gloomy clouds outside may not necessarily imply that sunlight cannot penetrate your skin. Grace yourself with a mattifying, non-comedogenic sunscreen with at least SPF 30.

Do: Gentle Exfoliate for Once a Week

It’s not just dead skin cells but also oil being clog up the pore causing a downfall of skin health during monsoons. Once a week, use a little scrub or BHA chemical exfoliant to shine through keeping it clean, smooth, and nice.

Don’t: Heavy Makeup

You can choose heavy textures like thick foundations, whereas cream-based products are different. Go breathable and non-comedogenic for your makeup or let it breathe your skin with minimal products.

If cared for diligently, oily skin would balance itself well in case of humidity during the monsoon. These simple do’s and don’t might help to avoid breakouts, control shine, and maintain skin health.
