New Rules from July :
Starting from July 1, 2025, several important rules will come into effect across India. These changes will affect daily life from gas cylinder prices to credit card charges. Here’s a simple summary of the key updates:
1. Gas Cylinder Prices May Change:
As every month begins, oil companies revise LPG cylinder prices. Similar changes are expected in July 2025 too. People are advised to check for price updates on the 1st of the month.
2. Aadhaar Now Mandatory for PAN Card:
From July 1, 2025, the government has made Aadhaar card compulsory to apply for a PAN card. As per the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Aadhaar-based verification is also required while applying.
3. Aadhaar Needed for Tatkal Ticket Booking:
Indian Railways has made Aadhaar verification mandatory for booking tatkal tickets through the IRCTC app. This rule will fully apply from July 15, 2025.
4. New Income Tax Filing Deadline:
The last date to file Income Tax Returns (ITR) for FY 2024-25 has been extended to September 15, 2025. Taxpayers now have more time to complete their returns.
5. HDFC Credit Card Charges Revised:
Starting July, users who spend more than ₹10,000 per month on gaming apps like Dream11 or MPL will pay an extra 1% fee. The same fee applies when users add over ₹10,000 to wallets like Paytm or Mobikwik. Utility bill payments over ₹50,000 and fuel expenses above ₹15,000 will also attract extra charges.
6. ICICI Bank ATM Charges Updated:
ICICI customers using ATMs of other banks more than 3 times a month will now pay ₹23 for extra financial transactions and ₹8.50 for
non-financial ones.
