Benefits of eating chicken during pregnancy

Pregnant women get a lot of protein by eating chicken. It is very important for the growth of the baby in the womb. Moreover, chicken is rich in iron. This helps in increasing the hemoglobin levels. Vitamins like B6 and B12 present in chicken help in the development of the baby’s body and brain health.

 

Precautions to take while eating chicken

  • Chicken should be eaten only after it is thoroughly cooked. Undercooked chicken carries the risk of bacteria such as salmonella.
  • Fresh meat should be used. It is better not to eat stored food. You should not go to street food at all.
  • It is better to eat boiled or grilled chicken rather than heavily spiced or fried chicken.
  • Broiler chickens are given various injections to grow quickly. So it is not good to eat such chicken. It is better to eat quality chicken or grass-fed meat.

When should you not eat chicken:

  • Chicken should not be eaten if you have constipation or digestive problems.
  • If you experience vomiting or an allergy after eating chicken at any time during pregnancy, it is best not to eat chicken again.
  • When the doctor tells you not to eat non-veg, it’s better to stay away from chicken.
