PAN Card Alert: Not Following This Could Cost ₹10,000

PAN Card Alert: Not Following This Could Cost ₹10,000

PAN Card Alert:

The Income Tax Department of India has issued a strict warning for all PAN card holders. If your PAN card is not linked to your Aadhaar number, you may face a penalty of up to ₹10,000 under Section 272B of the Income Tax Act. This is being done to stop tax evasion and improve transparency in the system.

PAN Card Alert:

A PAN card is essential for many financial transactions. If it is not linked with Aadhaar, it becomes inactive. Using such an inactive PAN card can lead to heavy fines. Important activities like opening a bank account, making large financial investments, buying property, applying for loans, or filing income tax returns may all be blocked or attract penalties.

The government has made Aadhaar linking mandatory. If not completed within the deadline, your PAN card will become invalid. This means you cannot carry out any banking or income-related services with it.

In addition, the Income Tax Department is now using advanced tools like AI and data analytics to track misuse. This includes identifying fake PAN cards, detecting wrong income tax returns, and stopping fraud refund claims.

People holding more than one PAN card are also being monitored. If you are using an invalid or duplicate PAN, you could be fined.

To avoid all these issues, link your PAN with Aadhaar immediately. This can be done online through the Income Tax e-filing portal. If not linked soon, your PAN may be suspended, bank accounts may be frozen, and you may be unable to file tax returns.
