School Holiday Declared Today in These 3 South Districts

School Holiday Declared Today:

The district collectors of Idukki, Thrissur, and Wayanad have declared a holiday on Thursday for all educational institutions due to heavy rain alerts in the region.

School Holiday Declared Today:

The order is applicable to all types of educational institutions, including professional colleges, CBSE and ICSE schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, anganwadis, madrasas, tuition centres, and training institutes in Idukki and Thrissur districts. This decision was taken to ensure the safety of students and staff in view of the ongoing monsoon conditions.

However, in Wayanad, only general educational institutions will remain closed. Professional colleges in Wayanad will remain open. Also, residential schools in Idukki will continue to function as usual.

Despite the holiday, the authorities clarified that scheduled public examinations in Thrissur and Wayanad will follow the original timetable. Students appearing for these exams should check official updates and attend as scheduled.

To make up for the academic hours lost due to the holiday, the heads of the institutions have been instructed to arrange online classes or other compensatory measures wherever possible.

This decision comes as several parts of Kerala continue to receive heavy rainfall. The holiday aims to ensure safety and prevent inconvenience to students and staff members who may face travel difficulties.

Local authorities will continue to monitor the weather situation and any further updates will be communicated through official channels.
