Sent Money To Wrong UPI Number? 1 Step To Get It Back

When it comes to online payments, everyone adopts different payment apps according to their convenience. However, the medium of all transactions is UPI. Unified Payments Interface i.e. UPI by National Payment Corporation of India and Reserve Bank of India is a system of online payment, which provides facility of different bank transactions. It is used by millions of customers. If you also use UPI for online payment and accidentally send money to wrong UPI number, then instead of getting upset, you should do some work.


Sent Money To Wrong UPI Number?

If you accidentally transfer money to a wrong number or UPI ID, then first contact UPI customer care. Apart from this, also inform your bank branch that you have accidentally transferred money to someone else.

Also, try to contact the person to whom you have mistakenly sent the money. Do not hesitate to contact the person to whom you have mistakenly made an online payment. Ask for your money back, if they don’t listen to you, you can file a complaint.

You can get your money back by complaining

If the other person refuses to return the money, you can file an FIR against him. If money is deposited into someone’s account by mistake, you can complain about it yourself and return the money to the person to whom it belongs. When you do not do this, it is a violation of RBI rules. In such a case, you may have to pay a fine and may also be punished.

Keep 3 things in mind while transferring money online

Check the account number and IFSC code carefully

Check the phone number or UPI ID properly

While sending money through UPI or IMPS, cross verify the name.
