Solar Eclipse 2025 Date and Time: Is it Dangerous to humankind?

The first solar eclipse of the year is going to take place on Saturday, March 29, 2025. According to Indian Standard Time, this solar eclipse will last from 2:21 pm to 6:14 pm. It will be a partial solar eclipse. It will be visible in North America as well as Western Europe, North-West Africa, and Russia. According to astronomers, the solar eclipse 2025 on March 29 can be dangerous. Let us know why this solar eclipse can be dangerous.

Solar Eclipse 2025 Date and Time:

The Sun, the closest star to the Earth, is located in its place, and the Earth revolves around it. Like the Earth, the Moon also revolves around the Sun. However, the Moon also revolves around the Earth. Sometimes while rotating, the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth. This blocks the sunlight for some time, which is called a solar eclipse. During this, the shadow of the Moon falls on the Earth.

What is a solar eclipse?

One of the rarest astronomical events in the world, a solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun. The presence of the Moon blocks the Sun’s light, and the Sun appears hidden. There are three types of solar eclipses: total, partial, and annular or fire ring. During a total solar eclipse, darkness prevails during the day.

Partial Solar Eclipse

A partial solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, but the Sun, Moon, and Earth are not in a straight line. Only a part of the Sun will be covered. A partial solar eclipse is called a Khandagaas Solar Eclipse.

This time the solar eclipse will be partial. It occurs when the Moon is relatively far from the Earth. Because of this, its size is small, and it is not able to completely cover the Sun’s corona. However, in some areas it will cover the Sun’s disk up to 93.8 percent. The largest eclipse will be seen in Nunavik village in northern Quebec, Canada.

Why can a solar eclipse be dangerous?

According to experts, the Sun will never be completely covered during an eclipse. Because of this, it will be dangerous to look at it. Eclipse glasses or solar filters will be needed to see the Sun during the eclipse. It is advisable not to look at the eclipse with sunglasses. Solar filters should be used to see the eclipse.
